Have you ever found yourself thinking about how decluttering never really seems to make much of a difference? Have you found yourself wishing there was a way for someone to tell you what to do in your home and how to do it. Well, in this episode, you're going to find out how you can get the answers to those questions.
Hey there, I'm Nicole from The Maximizing Momma, and I am obsessed with creating a home that gives me more peace of mind, more time to myself and more time with my kids. I teach you the tried and true secrets to clearing your clutter, getting organized, and managing your household in a realistic and sustainable way.
This show is where we talk about things like motherhood, decluttering, organizing, creating routines, mindset, energy, and everything in between. Our homes are the foundation for the rest of our lives, and it's so important to have a calm, relaxing household so you can have the time, the peace of mind, and the freedom to truly enjoy motherhood. So sit back and get ready to take charge of your home.
Decluttering can be awfully confusing because there are so many different ways to go about it. And even worse, the literal definition of de cluttering doesn't really help. The definition is to remove items from an untidy or an overcrowded space. When you're following that literal definition, you end up doing all kinds of tasks that don't really get you to where you're wanting to go.
You might be making your house look more neat and tidy, but you're not making much of a difference in the grand scheme of your home. And that's why I have been busy working behind the scenes on something brand new that will give you the plan that you need to get started. So you can really distinguish the difference between the messes and the clutter.
Because as I've been saying for several months now, we all use different language patterns. So when I say to declutter your kitchen table, or your kitchen counters, there are thousands of people who are decluttering by cleaning the table off. But that's the literal definition of de cluttering. To remove items from an overcrowded space.
And because there is such major confusion in the decluttering industry, I have created my own definitions. Now I have talked about this before, we have a podcast episode that goes over the difference between decluttering organizing, tidying and overhauling. I will link the episode below so you can have a listen.
But today I really want to hone in on what it means to declutter. Again, since the actual definition of the cluttering is a little too broad, the way that I define and describe decluttering is to let go of the excess stuff. So, because of all this, this new thing that's coming soon will help you distinguish between all of these areas.
I will not be saying in a broad sense to declutter your coffee table, but instead I'll be saying to let go of these items and these things specifically. The purpose is to really take as much of the decisions off the table as possible and to get you in the habit of identifying which areas you need to do what in and what you should be doing with certain other types of stuff in your home.
You see, years ago, I created a 30 day declutter calendar that gives 30 days worth of ideas that you can choose from, like decluttering your makeup, for example. But again, I've realized since then that this is far too broad. Because you and your neighbor could both de clutter, your makeup and get two very different results.
And I know with every ounce of my being that this is why you have been stuck in your home. Because decluttering is not one size fits all and clutter isn't all created equally. So I have made it my mission to narrow in on all of this. So you can tackle both, so you can get to the root of the clutter while also managing the messes and running your household like a boss. And I am so, so, so excited for this. Now I have noticed over the last few weeks that I have a wide variety of people in my community. So I want to make it very clear who I am speaking to. This new resource will be game-changing for you. If you know you need to declutter, but you're spending all of your time dealing with the everyday messes, the toys, the laundry and the dishes. You have tried shuffling things around your home, you have tried organizing the piles and you have tucked things in closets and behind closed doors. And your things may not be stacked to the roof, but it's still dragging you down. The clutter is causing you to want to disappear in your bedroom, you're snapping at your kids and feeling so frustrated.
It's affecting the way that you're showing up as a parent, a daughter and a friend, because every morning and every night, You're stressed out, trying to figure out how you're going to get it all under control. And things aren't hoarder level. But they feel like they're closing in on you and you don't want to get to that point.
You don't want to look around in 10 years and feel like you have made the biggest mistake of your life by never getting your household under control. So if that's you, you are in the right spot. And I can't wait for you to see what we have in store over the next few months. First, as I said, we have this new resource coming out within the next week.
I will share all about it on the podcast as soon as it's ready. But if you want to be the very first to know, the best option is to get on the VIP email list.
So I will include a link below in the show notes so you can sign up. Then in May, I am releasing a private podcast that will go into the depth of my story. Everything that led up to me acquiring clutter. And everything it took from me to really get rid of it. Really, it's going to be a diary of sorts that spans the last 10 years of my life. Maybe really the last 15 years of my life that goes into , homelessness and grief, chronic illness, depression, and much, much more. This is truly going to be the inside look, because over the last year I have been doing a lot of research on the link between trauma and clutter, between adversity and clutter. And so this private audio feed is a way for me to open that door.
I'll admit, I am a little nervous because some of the things that some of the, some of these things that I'm going to be sharing our experiences that I have never shared publicly before, parts of my story that I have previously kept hidden. But I'm also excited because I know there are people out there going through the same things that I went through and I know how my story can help someone else.
Then in June, I have been considering launching a membership. This membership will be a place for you to plug in every week to get ideas, to help you let go of the clutter to let go of the things that you've been holding onto. I'm thinking that this membership will be specifically for those who need to let go of things. It won't be about organizing tips or managing the messes or running your household just pure and simple decluttering and letting go.
So make sure to stay tuned because there will be more on that to come. And then finally, when I am most excited for- De clutter Like a Boss is coming back. Only this time, it will be an academy, an evolution of sorts. It will be the only program that you ever need for overhauling the mess, ditching the clutter, getting organized, and maintaining your home for years to come. This is for the woman, for the person aged 30 to 50, who wants to be more organized, but needs to overhaul and declutter first. For the person who wants to manage their household like a boss, but the concept of tidying, decluttering and organizing is too much to try and do all at once.
Now, as I said, this will be the only program that you'll ever need to get your household where you want it to be. And I am so excited to see it all come to life! Now I will be refining all the details on the difference between the membership and Declutter Like a Boss. So like I said, make sure to stay tuned for all of that, but each of the membership and Declutter Like a Boss will be for two distinct people, so there will be no need to join both of them.
So that's pretty much it, that is an overview of what's to come for the Maximizing community throughout the rest of the year, throughout the rest of 2023. And I can't wait for it to all play out so you can get the support you need to take charge of your home, and finally have the time to make memories with your family, to finally feel confident and capable in your home and to have the peace of mind to truly enjoy your life.
So if you're ready to come along, again, the best place to be is on the VIP email list. Or you can follow me on Instagram because all the action is on my stories.
So make sure to stay tuned because this new resource is coming out next week and I'll be sharing all about it on the podcast. But to give you a little teaser, it's going to tell you exactly where to start and exactly how to distinguish the difference between the clutter in the messages.
Basically, it will tell you what to do in your home. It will tell you how to do it in your home. It will give you 30 days worth of ideas so you don't have to wonder where to start and you don't have to wonder what to do next. All right. I'll chat with you soon. Bye.
