The Ultimate Roadmap to Declutter, Organize, and Thrive
===
[00:00:00] How long have you been trying to declutter and organize your home? How many years have passed where you're tidying and rearranging and shuffling your things around and just trying to create a neat, orderly peaceful household. If you feel like it has been several years and you're sick and tired of trying everything under the sun, this episode will give you the complete roadmap, you need to take your entire home from messy and cluttered to calm and organized one step at a time so you never have to wonder where to start or what to do next.
Hey there, I'm Nicole from The Maximizing Momma and I am obsessed with creating a home that gives me more peace of mind, more time to myself, and more time with my kids. I teach you the tried and true secrets to clearing your clutter, getting organized, and managing your household in a realistic and sustainable way.
This show is [00:01:00] where we talk about things like motherhood, decluttering, organizing, creating routines, mindset, energy, and everything in between. Our homes are the foundation for the rest of our lives, and it's so important to have a calm, relaxing household so you can have the time, the peace of mind, and the freedom to truly enjoy motherhood.
So sit back and get ready to take charge of your home.
When you are looking to take charge of your home so you can stop stressing and have more peace of mind, it's pretty easy to get overwhelmed with all the different strategies, leaving you wondering where to start and what to do next. I mean, there's a lot to choose from. You could tidy the messes, organize it all and cute bins and baskets, de clutter the excess stuff, or create rhythms and routines to help you manage and maintain it all. [00:02:00] And this is exactly why so many people tell me that they're trying to everything, they're doing it all, they're tidying, decluttering, organizing, they're pinning ideas on Pinterest, they're watching clean with me YouTube videos, they've done the cleaning schedules and they have tried the decluttering checklists, but nothing is working at all. Well, the reason why nothing is working s because these are all different home life concepts. You have tidying to help you clean up the messes and put things away. Organizing was developed to help people make spaces look more beautiful and to make their lives easier. And then de cluttering came about when people realized that they should let go of their excess stuff before they organize. And what I really want to drive home here is that after learning how to improve my own household since 2016 and working with clients and students, here's what I [00:03:00] know to be true. All of these strategies can work, but it's all dependent on what phase you are in with your home. Whether your house is a disaster zone or it's a little bit cluttered or somewhat under control or it's a total wreck. Depending on what phase you're in, those strategies and home life concepts might not work for you. You see, 20 years ago when these home life concepts became so popular, it's because our homes were slowly starting to be filled with more and more stuff. But there was never a concept developed for those who need to do everything!
For those who are at the beginning of their journey, who need to tackle the messes and they need to clear a lot of clutter and they also want to be more organized. So as a result, now in the 21st [00:04:00] century, you have been left to put the pieces together on your own. You're piecemealing all these different strategies to try and find something that will work for your specific household when the truth is, the rules are different when you're organizing a messy home. The same strategies that professional organizers use will not work when you are first taking charge of your home and wanting to transform the entire thing from messy and cluttered to calm and organized.
So after several years of being on the same hamster wheel and also trying everything under the sun, I figured this out. I realized that I was doing everything sporadically and that it was getting me nowhere. You see, I've been through, I have truly been through everything you can imagine when it comes to organizing and decluttering and [00:05:00] managing our belongings. In 2016, we moved to a bigger home because I thought we needed more space. Our house was starting to fill with stuff and the clutter and the messes were piling up and I thought that having a bigger townhouse would solve that problem when it didn't solve the problem, I decided to organize every single inch. And I did, I put baskets and bins and labels in every single inch of our home. But it's still didn't solve the problem, the messes and the clutter and the piles were still piling up. So I was spending all of my time tidying up and cleaning up after my kids and trying to escape the chaos and just wondering what it would take to finally make a change. Then in 2018, we downsized into a much smaller house, my late mother's home. And I realized that I would have to start decluttering because all of our belongings truly did not fit into that house. And that is when I, I realized that [00:06:00] I was emotionally attached to all of my belongings because it was very hard for me to let anything go. So over the next couple of years, I did the work to declutter my entire house, but my house kept getting messy again and again, even though I was letting go of more and more stuff. And that is when I uncovered the concept of overhauling and how I needed to tackle the different types of clutter, the Big Three Messes. And then finally in the summer of 2023, We had a house fire and I lost everything that I've ever owned, all of the things that meant the world to me.
After all of that, after everything I had been through over the last seven years, I have all this knowledge in my head and I'm a pretty type A person. I love to organize and streamline information. And I realized that all these home life concepts were created with different people in mind. They were all [00:07:00] developed to do one thing only. They were not created to do everything, they weren't created to help us solve our messy homes. So that is when I started breaking these concepts down into phases. And that is how the Peaceful Home Roadmap was born. It is the complete roadmap you need to finally get an organized, peaceful home and maintain it all for years to come. Now the premise of the Peaceful Home Roadmap is that you go all in on one phase until you fully master it for your entire household. And then you can move on to the next phase. So each of the four phases of the Peaceful Home Roadmap is an all encompassing home life concept. The ones that we were talking about just a second ago, tidying, decluttering, organizing, and then finally you have cleaning and maintenance. [00:08:00] So each of those concepts, they were not created to be all jumbled together and have you doing them randomly in your home when you have different types of clutter and messes as well as things that you want to keep.
It makes no sense to try and do them all randomly. It makes no sense to do them all sporadically because they were not created to work together. They don't fit together. But when you're following the Peaceful Home Roadmap and you're going all in on one phase at a time, it streamlines the entire process. It simplifies the entire process. So you're not left scratching your head, trying to figure out where to put something, if you should declutter it or organize it, if you should move it over here or you should tidy it up, . You don't have to worry about any of that. You just follow the step-by-step roadmap. The step-by-step plan. You follow each of the four phases. You go all in on one phase until you have fully [00:09:00] mastered it for your entire household. And then, then you can move on to the next phase.
But I did make a few changes because tidying alone will not help you tackle the messes and keep them put away. I mean, if it did, then you would have been successful by now, right? The fact is the reason why these messes are left out in the first place is because you have hidden clutter taking up all of your storage spaces. And that leaves you very little room for the things that you're using daily, which is exactly why they're getting left out all over your home. And that is why tidying up doesn't last. Because even if you put those items away, even if you deal with the messes and put them away, or you straighten them up or make them look more neat and orderly, you still have clutter behind closed doors. So the messes will keep coming back.
And that is [00:10:00] why instead of tidying, phase one is the Overhaul Phase. It does include a little bit of tidying. But it is also devoted to helping you overhaul the messes and tackle all the things that you want to keep that you don't know what to do with. Now in our last episode, the one right before this one, we covered Overhauling in more detail. So if you missed that episode, go check it out, have a listen, find out what Overhauling really consists of, and then come back here and finish this episode because we're going to be getting into the next three phases, the final three phases of the Peaceful Home Roadmap. So Overhauling is phase one. When you're following the Peaceful Home Roadmap. You are fully overhauling your entire household before you declutter it, before you organize, before you try and develop cleaning schedules or even get your family on board. You are [00:11:00] just solely focused on overhauling the messes and tackling all the things that you don't know what to do with, it's all the things that you want to keep.
So once you have Overhauled your entire home, then, and only then, you can start decluttering during the Declutter Phase. During this phase, you're literally purging your entire house. Not all at once, so don't let that scare you away. But over the course of a couple of months, you are solely focused on decluttering. You're overcoming the chaos, you're clearing away the excess stuff, and you're letting go of the things that you no longer need, use, or want. You're not dealing with the homeless clutter, because that is what you did during phase one, the Overhaul Phase. You're not trying to get organized because that will come during phase three, the Organize Phase. You are only prioritizing the clutter, [00:12:00] clearing away what you no longer need, use, or want and letting go of the excess stuff so you can have more space in your home for the things that you do want to keep.
Then once you have demolished your clutter, then you can go all in on getting organized. So everything that needs to be done in order to get organized,. It'll all fall under the Organize Phase. Including organizing your mind so you can easily stay on top of everything that you need to do, organizing your life so you can easily make it out the door on time, and organizing your home so you can easily find what you need. And then once you are pretty organized and you feel like you have a pretty good handle on your household, then you can move on to phase four, the Maintenance Phase. [00:13:00] So for this phase, everything that is required in order to maintain your home and create a lifestyle change, that all falls under the Maintenance Phase, such as getting your family on board, and fine tuning your habits so you can learn to put things away when you're done using them, as well as reducing your spending, and developing routines to help you keep the clutter at bay and, and developing cleaning schedules, and just maintaining your tidy, peaceful home.
Now.
The fact is tackling your home in phases. Is life-changing. The Peaceful Home Roadmap simplifies all of it. So you you're never left wondering what to do next. You're not left, spinning your wheels, trying to figure out where to put something. And that means that you will finally feel confident and certain and motivated to overhaul the mess, demolish the clutter, and get organized. [00:14:00] When you follow the Peaceful Home Roadmap, step by step, you can have a household that feels calm, and relaxing and actually supports your family's needs. You can have a dedicated home for everything that you want to keep, you can have less stuff cluttering up your house, you can have organized spaces to make your life easier and routines to help you maintain it all going forward so you can manage the messes and prevent your house from getting cluttered all over again. That's it, my exact formula for creating a peaceful home.
So instead of sporadically decluttering, organizing and tidying, you want to focus on one concept at a time until you complete it. And you can follow this roadmap for the rest of your life. No matter what life [00:15:00] throws your way! You can come back to the Peaceful Home Roadmap and know exactly where to start, all depending on what phase you are currently in. Whether that's in one year, 10 years, or even 30 years down the line.
Because one thing that will always be true... You will always have a home to live in. I do realize there are millions of people who do not have a home to call their own. There are systems and very real problems in this world that have prevented people from having shelter to live in.
But if you are listening to this episode, you are blessed to have a home, no matter what it looks like. Whether that's an apartment or a house or a condo, or even a room at your parent's house for now. You have a home. You have a household. And you will have a home for likely the rest of your life. [00:16:00] And the harsh truth is that right now, your home is not working for you. Because you never learned how to manage all of your stuff. No one ever taught you how to declutter and let go, and maybe organizing doesn't come naturally to you. So my point is that you will be living in a home for the rest of your life. And that means that you need to get it to a place that feels calm and peaceful and supportive of the type of life that you want to have.
Because you deserve to have a household that works for you. Not the other way around.
And the Peaceful Home Roadmap is THE roadmap that you need to finally create that type of household. So even if you have more kids, or you become an empty nester, or you move across the world, you will always know exactly what to do and where to [00:17:00] focus your time and attention in your home.
It's life changing, you all! The Peaceful Home Roadmap is truly, it will truly change your house forever to have this roadmap and to be able to tackle your home in different phases. Instead of trying to do everything randomly and sporadically.
So if you're ready to get started, here's what you need to know. If you have messes, if you have a lot of things around your home that you want to keep, that you don't know what to do with, then you're in the Overhaul Phase. If you only have clutter piling up that you need to sort through, then you're in the Declutter Phase. And if you have a pretty good handle on the piles and the messes and the clutter, but you just want to be more organized, then you're in the Organizing Phase. So based on what phase you are in [00:18:00] right now, that is where you need to get started. And again, our last episode tells you all about the Overhaul Phase. And I have several episodes that dive into helping you declutter and organize.
Because for each of these phases, I just went over a broad overview of what they look like, but there are several different strategies and methods and things that you should be doing in your home and your life underneath each of these phases.
As I was just saying a second ago, when it comes time to getting organized, you need to be organizing your mind, your life and your home together. All three of them in order to fully stay organized. When it comes to decluttering your home, you need to have a plan of action and successfully get the clutter out of your house and learn how to let go and learn how to declutter your sentimental items. There's a lot that needs to be done under each of the phases.
So you might be feeling totally on top of the [00:19:00] world, like you've got this roadmap, you are good to go, you are ready to implement this in your home. But some of you may be looking for a little bit more support, someone to guide you through the entire process as you follow the Peaceful Home Roadmap one step at a time. And that is why I am so excited to share with you the complete system to overhaul the mess, ditch the clutter and get organized. It is called Cluttered to Calm, and it is the only course out there that will get you a peaceful, organized home that runs on autopilot so you can have free time to prioritize your own needs and the freedom to enjoy your life instead of always having to clean up after it. Because for each phase of the Peaceful Home [00:20:00] Roadmap, there are dozens of strategies and methods to help you fully master it. So inside of the program, there is an entire module devoted to the foundational content that you need to know. And then the remaining modules are organized based on the Peaceful Home Roadmap.
One of them would be Overhaul and underneath the Overhaul module is everything you need to overhaul your entire home. Then the next module is De clutter. And underneath that one is everything you [00:21:00] could ever need to know to purge your entire house. That module alone is like an entire decluttering course just on its own.
As a matter of fact, Cluttered to Calm is so robust, it is so comprehensive that each of the four phases of the Peaceful Home Roadmap could be individual courses on their own. But I wanted to give you the complete system so you never have to wonder what to do next, so you're never left scratching your head, trying to figure out what you should be prioritizing next.
It's all right there in one easy to access program. So you can truly transform your entire household from messy and cluttered to calm and organized.
And right now you can save $300 off enrollment and get some extra bonuses that won't be available anywhere else. Like I said earlier, it's all going to be dependent on what phase you're in with your home. Whether you [00:24:00] have messes or you have just clutter, or you just want to get organized.
And if you have both clutter and messes, if you have everyday messes and homeless clutter and accumulated clutter that are piling up, then you need to be starting with the Overhaul Phase.
Once you have overhauled your entire home, you have tackled all the things that you want to keep that are making your house so messy. Then you can move on to the decluttering phase.
